Here we have our naive and ordinary heroine, Catherine Morland, in the woods near Northanger Abbey. Catherine was an avid reader who loved the outdoors. She was not interested in the typical tasks expected of a young woman at that time in history. She would often let her imagination run wild, especially when it had to do with the supernatural world!
